Department, Atterberry was among the victims of a crazed gunman unloading at the intersection of Sunset & Vine on Friday. Atterberry appears to have been returning to his car after visiting the nearby Bank of America, and was ultimately shot in the face and chest before being rushed to Cedars-Sinai Hospital. Shortly before 5 pm on Monday, Atterberry was pronounced dead. The crazed assailant, now identified as 26-year-old Tyler Brehm, was initially unloading rounds into the air before he directed fire at passing motorists. That resulted in some very close calls for a number of drivers, one of which was grazed by a bullet and another who found a bullet lodged in his door. Nearby LAPD officers quickly responded to the incident, and ultimately shot Brehm dead on the scene. As a manager and promoter, the executive has played a critical role in the development of the Spice Girls, Jessica Simpson, and Brandy, according to details shared by the Hollywood Reporter. The executive was sitting in a silver, late-model Mercedes at the time of the incident. Atterberry resided in the Hollywood Hills, and friends and acquaintances are now posting messages of support on his Facebook Wall. Initial accounts suggest that Brehm snapped under personal pressures, and opted for this incredibly dramatic and destructive suicide attempt. His girlfriend had just ended a four-year relationship, and pointed to medications as potentially playing a role in the tragedy.
