You can now buy your favorite gear directly from independent retailers, instrument makers, and manufactures through the Local Music Gear Store! As of February 6th 2012, Local Music Gear has teamed up with a still-growing number of independent retailers, instrument makers, and manufactures to bring consumers the ability to have the selection of a “big box” store by combining the inventory of the little guys. While you will still get the warm and fuzzy feeling of supporting small independent business, you will also have a selection of gear that the “big box”stores do not carry, at prices that are sometimes direct from the manufacturers. What most consumers do not know, is that there is a ton of politics that are involved in the decision making possess when adding a new product/sku to one of the “big box” stores that can financially cripple small manufactures, just so the "big box" stores can offer the consumer a very small (usually one to two percent) discount. There are more independent retailers then there are “big box” stores, there are more instrument makers and manufactures then the “big box” stores will carry, and most are of superior quality then the mass produced products that the “big box” stores offer.
